Triathlon

We are so proud of Brooks for participating in a triathlon. He had set a goal last year that he wanted to compete in the Geckothon- his schools triathlon. With determination, training and great attitude he faced the challenge and did an amazing job. As we watched him compete I just kept thinking how proud I was of him and what a great son he is. He is such a great example and leader in our family. Brayden looks up to and love Brooks- he is his most favorite person in the world, and Brea might not admit it because Brooks teases her so much but she loves him too. They make each other better individuals. Thanks Brooks for being our inspiration- love ya Mom!! And next time just let me hug you in one picture- it's cool.

Swim

12 laps

Bike

4 miles, uphill, in the rain...

Run...

2.3 miles-cruising to the finish line.

Matt's Trip to DC

Matt was able to spend time in Washington DC at a work conference several weeks ago. He loved touring all of the historical sites. Matt is very patriotic and he said his favorite site was Arlington Cemetery. He said it was very humbling to see the acres of grave sites of men that had given their lives for our country.

Seasonal Family Favorites

1. Fall, is our favorite season because the weather finally starts to cool down and the trees change color. Love those cool autumn nights with a clear, blue sky, lots of stars and beautiful full moon.
2. Football season has arrived and Matt and Brooks couldn't be happier to cheer for BYU if they are winning and cuss them out if they're not.
3. St. George Marathon- one of Matt's favorite training challenges. If you want to hear Matt be sentimental (which is rare)- ask him about the St. George Marathon. He loves it.
4. Holidays- especially Thanksgiving. It combines our favorite things food, family, friends and fun. Brea might argue Halloween is better or Christmas she all ready has a huge list ready.
5. Brea and I both have birthdays in November. Brea enjoys celebrating hers and I like the gifts but not so much the celebration of another year- although 25 feels pretty good- hehehe.

Just wanted to let you all know how grateful we are for all of you. Hope you are all enjoying the beginning of the holiday season.

Our Favorite Place

I love this view!!! I've decided one of our favorite places to visit the Bryce Canyon/Kodachrome area. Whenever we can find some free time that's where we escape too. We love going camping and hiking and enjoying the beauty of the red rocks- and the view is amazing. We didn't quite make it to Kodachrome this year or Calf Creek but that is on next year's list for sure. We had a fun time hiking the Navajo Loop with the kids and camping at the Ruby's Inn campground. After our sweaty hike we went swimming which was a great way to take a bath and cool off. Unfortuantely our camera is not so great-so look for better quality photo's in the future!

All in a days work-over and mostly out!
WOW what a view! Just hanging out with the chipmunks.

One of Brayden's favorite outdoor hobbies is hiking so he took off before the rest of us were ready.

Bryce Canyon
We were able to get away for a small camping trip to Bryce Canyon in August. Brooks wasn't able to come because he was boating with his friend, but Matt, Brayden, Brea and I enjoyed camping, hiking and then swimming at the campground swimming pool. It felt nice to get out of the St. George heat.

First blog ever...............

The kids were excited for their first day of school and so was I!!! After a long, hot summer it was fun for them to go back to school. Brooks was excited because he got great grades and got into Algebra- smart kid. Brayden was excited for a new routine and Brea was excited for her first day of real school- kindergarten!!!
